Dewey Beach Winter Gala draws hundreds for benefit

Patty Smyth headlines the Dewey Beach Winter Gala Feb. 15, at the Baycenter. The annual event benefits the Dewey Beach lifeguard patrol,the  Dewey Beach police department and Dewey Beach beautification projects. The  organizing committee consists of Dewey Beach businesses and Friends of Dewey.

Entertainment was also provided by Ed and Michael Shockley, Comfort Zone and Jimi Smooth and the Hit Time.

A silent auction was held and food and drink was provided by local restaurants. Go to to find out winners of the silent auction.

The silent auction was hosted by the local community group Friends of Dewey and benefits beautification efforts in Dewey Beach. Attendees throw their tickets into the buckets for items they want to win. The winning numbers are listed on the website. (Photo by: Deny Howeth)
