Dewey officials stand by town manager

By Diane Hanson and Dewey Beach Town Council | Aug 15, 2014

The commissioners of the Town of Dewey Beach feel compelled to voice our strong support of Town Manager Marc Appelbaum in response to recent opinions expressed by James Pryzgocki.

First, it is important to state that the commissioners, town manager, and staff are committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government.

Second, it is important to remember that a letter to the editor is an expression of opinion, not fact. The town manager’s contract terms were subjected to legal review and unanimously approved by counsel. The commissioners have fully reviewed the facts, and found that Mr. Appelbaum has, as always, conducted himself in an ethical and responsible manner and is in full compliance with both the letter and the spirit of his employment contract.

We have complete confidence in our town manager.

Diane Hanson, mayor and Dewey Beach Town Council
