District 22 D Lions celebrate 50th Governor's Ball

The Lions Clubs of District 22 D celebrated their 50th Governor's Ball Dec. 8 at the Atlantic Sands Hotel in Rehoboth Beach. The keynote speaker was International Director Stephen Glass from Bridgeport, W.Va. The ball honors the sitting governor for the Lions District. This year's governor is Mary Lee Phillips of Millsboro. District 22 D has more than 1,300 members in the state of Delaware with seven clubs in the beach area.

During the celebration, Glass, left, and Phillips, center, present the President's Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding work as a Lion to PDG and former Sen. Richard Cordrey of Millsboro. Cordrey was district governor 1969-70. He was also awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship for his work in Lions Clubs and the community.
