Duo charged in beach town robberies
A Frankford man, 22, and a Dagsboro woman, 24, face burglary charges after police say they found stolen goods in the couple's vehicle during a traffic stop.
Ocean View Police stopped Jake N. Fox and Heidi M. Hitchens Oct. 28 and discovered the couple was wanted, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
Police also found stolen items in the couple's car, he said.
Delaware State Police, Ocean View and Bethany Beach police researched home burglaries over the past year and they connected the couple to 20 incidents, Fournier said.
The couple entered unoccupied homes and stole jewelry, televisions, electronics, cash and prescription medication; they took most of the items to local pawn shops, he said.
Hitchens was charged with 25 charges of second-degree burglary, felony theft, conspiracy and criminal trespass. She was released on $9,700 unsecured bond.
Fox charged with 112 charges of second-degree burglary, felony theft, conspiracy and criminal trespass. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $63,100 secured bond.
