Early Care and Education students win FEA medals

Eleven Early Care and Education career-technical sophomores and juniors at Sussex Technical High School competed at the recent state Future Educators Association conference. This was the first time Sussex Tech participated in the competition. Eight students placed with gold or silver medals.

Winning gold medals were members of the Exceptionalities Research and Presentation team, Emmie Bryant of Georgetown, Abby Evan of Dagsboro, Rian Shirey of Seaford, Kelsey Mulford of Laurel and Caroline Mitchell of Seaford. Receiving silver medals in Public Speaking on the topic The Effect of Homelessness on Education were Joanie Shinn of Georgetown and Lakalla Molock of Greenwood.

Teachers Sandy Furbush and Deborah Long accompanied the students to the conference. The FEA advisor is Beth Bendistis.
