Election looms - Milton; the next Milton!
Milton, you no longer have to compare yourself to any other town in America; nope, because you're beautiful! And, you are just close enough and just far enough away from the beauty and fun and, yes, what can be termed in-season madness, of the beaches. What a great location!
Dogfish Head Brewery is a fine destination point so long as they maintain their good neighbor policy and create promised tree barriers and buffers around their expansion. Boy, oh, boy, that annex to the main building is somewhat larger than many envisioned - too bad one can't shrink a building, after the fact!
There is so much going for Milton and now the town has the prospect of a new mayor. With a new mayor, we could then say, "Mr. Mayor, thanks for stepping up three years ago, congratulations to you both then and now on your win, but ultimately, thank goodness for a council that kept you on your toes. They and the good citizens of Milton had the foresight to keep the town's future interests in the forefront, and thank goodness for it, Ms. Mayor!"
Come March and with our new mayor, I believe we can see all divisiveness and contentiousness end and wouldn't that be something?
Neighbors, there is not enough space in this entire paper - no exaggeration! - to extol the fine attitude and caring leadership demonstrated by candidate for mayor and current councilperson, Marion Jones. I hope she has everyone's continued support and ultimately, their vote. What a win for Milton!
Welcome Michael Cote and John Collier to council even as we say goodbye to long-serving Vice Mayor Leah Betts and our Wagamon neighbor Norman Lester (town treasurer on council).
Milton; the next Milton! Milton, with a new mayor and a much needed course-correction, this town of ours can continue with even smarter growth and one day not so far off, so many more people will be saying in my humble opinion, "Milton, the best little town in the universe!"
