Engage Delaware initiative provides online tools for better health
As part of a new statewide initiative called Engage Delaware, Quality Insights of Delaware is dedicated to improving heart health for Delawareans and encouraging patients to be active members of their healthcare team.
As part of Engage Delaware, Quality Insights has created a patient portal with tools and resources designed to keep Delawareans healthy at www.qide.org. Its online listing of tools and resources can help patients use information technology to improve their health and be more engaged in their care.
“Patients and their families are key partners in the effort to improve the quality and safety of healthcare,” said Beth Schindele, Engage Delaware director. “Don’t take a back seat when it comes to your health.”
The best way to stay healthy is to take an active role in one's health and healthcare. This includes asking one's doctor about preventive care covered by Medicare, such as immunizations, tests and screenings.
To learn more about Engage Delaware and the free tools and resources to help patients stay healthy, visit www.qide.org and click on Medicare Consumers and Your Health. Once there, patients can access information on heart health, immunizations, cancer screenings and how to be an engaged consumer.
Quality Insights of Delaware, under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, protects Medicare patient rights and works collaboratively with hospitals and other healthcare providers in Delaware to assist them in their efforts to improve the quality of the care they deliver.
