Ernie Lopez thanks voters, vows to work hard
I want to take a moment to say how thankful I am to have been elected as your senator in the new 6th Senatorial District in the Cape Region. The support our campaign received from members of all political parties was evident in the vote totals on Tuesday and for that, I will always be grateful.
I would also like to thank Andy Staton and Wendy Jones for their efforts in running for this same office. I have great respect for anyone willing to take time away from their family and those they love in order to serve the public, and I wish them both the very best.
Now that the campaign is over, I look forward to keeping my promise of being a senator for all of the residents of the 6th District working within the caucus and across the aisle to address the serious issues facing our area and our state. With gridlock and negativity dominating politics at the national level, I look forward to being a voice of pragmatism and reason on the local level which is needed now more than ever.
My friends, the heavy lifting begins today, and I am humbled by the trust that has been placed in me to be your voice and vote in the Delaware Senate. Please do not hesitate to contact me at 302-598-7669 with questions regarding legislation or topics of concern here in our area. I am honored to be your new state senator and look forward to doing all that I can to promote and protect the beauty of our Cape Region in addition to leveraging the rich resources we have to encourage growth and prosperity for all in the district.
With warmest regards and very best wishes as always,
Dr. Ernesto B. “Ernie” Lopez
