milton — Reelected Milton Town Council members Esthelda Parker Selby and Emory West took the oath of office April 7 before Milton Mayor and Town Council’s meeting at the Milton Public Library.

Incumbents Selby and West beat challenger Gwendolyn Jones in a March 1 election for two open seats.

Selby, 66, is a Milton native and a retired Cape Henlopen School District teacher and administrator who worked in the district for 34 years. She was appointed to council last year to take Marion Jones’ seat after Jones was elected mayor.

West, 60, was first elected to town council in 2001. A lifelong Milton resident, he retired from the Delaware Department of Transportation, where he worked as a welder and machinist.

The Hon. Jack Hudson, a Milton native and judge in Justice of the Peace Court 2 near Rehoboth Beach, officiated. Holding the Bible for Councilwoman Selby is her mother, V. Ramona Parker. Milton Town Councilwoman Kristin Patterson is holding the Bible for Councilman West.
