Esther Anne Wilson, Suburban Propane retiree
Esther Anne (Johnson) Wilson, 87, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes. The daughter of the late J. Dorman and Ruth (Savin) Johnson, Esther Anne was a fourth generation native of Rehoboth Beach, a town she loved and where she lived her entire life.
A graduate of Rehoboth High School, Esther Anne retired from Suburban Propane after working many years in their Rehoboth office. She will be especially remembered for her love of all things culinary, especially candy making and the delicious desserts she loved to bake for her family and friends. Esther was a lifelong member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach.
In addition to her parents, Esther Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe Gail Wilson, whom she met while he was assigned to the Dewey Beach Coast Guard Station during World War II; and her brother-in-law Donald E. Quint.
Esther Anne is survived by her only child, Hope W. Lavachia and her husband Joe; two granddaughters, Heather Craig of Wilmington and Kelly Croll and her husband Doug of Westchester County, N.Y.; and a great-granddaughter Katie Craig of Wilmington; her sister Juanita "Pete" Quint of Naples Fla.; niece Dawn Quint Caullwine; nephew Stephen Quint; and grand-nieces and -nephews Amber, Brandi, Brittany, Dawson and Zachary.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
