Euler hat trick leads Cape soccer past Sussex Tech 4-1
Cape’s new system resulted in four goals scored against what coach Gary Montalto described as "a very good Sussex Tech soccer team," as the Vikings broke open a close game with three goals in the second half for a 4-1 victory at Tech Sept. 19.
Max Euler notched a hat trick for the game with a first-half penalty shot and two left-footed goals in the second half, while Billy Swontek scored at the 53-minute mark of the second half after doing a 360 spin inside three defenders then going far post from far out for Cape's second goal, which proved to be the game winner.
“I don’t like close games, so I decided to do something about it," Swontek said after the game.
Cape outshot Sussex Tech 12-6, while the Ravens had an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Cape remains undefeated at 4-0 on the season. The Vikings will play the Worcester Prep Mallards at home at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Sussex Tech falls to 2-2 and faces Salesianum at home at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24.
