'Eye of the Whale' author Jennifer O'Connell to sign book in Lewes July 25Portion on proceeds to benefit MERR Institute
Author and illustrator Jennifer O'Connell will be signing her new book "The Eye of The Whale" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, July 25, at Sand N Stones, 112 Front Street, Lewes.
This children's book is about a remarkable rescue effort of a humpback whale that was tangled in hundreds of yards of crab-trap lines off the coast near San Francisco, Calif. A team of volunteers answered the call and four divers risked their lives to rescue the enormous animal. What followed was a rare and remarkable demonstration of animal behavior that has been celebrated around the world.
For each "The Eye Of The Whale" sold July 25 Michele Buckler from Sand N Stones will donate $5 to MERR, the Marine Education Rescue and Rehabilitation Institute in Lewes, for their rescue efforts of many marine animals and sea turtles that are in danger off the coast of Delaware each year.
