Browseabout Books at 133 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach announces a book signing with Paul G. Mast, author of "Fatal Absolution," starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 30.

Mast is a native of Delaware, born in Dover and raised in Clayton. He’s currently a priest of the Diocese of Wilmington.

In "Fatal Absolution," after years of dealing with sex abuse scandals, the Catholic Church must now respond to a new and different issue - the murder of three Catholic priests in the quiet town of Islip, N.Y.

Sam Bannion, a gritty and determined local police detective, has high hopes of unraveling this murder mystery. Unfortunately, Bannion must navigate through the choppy and often murkiest of waters - the Catholic Diocese of New York.

Meanwhile, secretary to the bishop of Islip and former concert pianist Father Timothy Cavanagh dons his own investigator hat in search of answers.

Joining forces, the two are soon compelled to confront Cavanagh’s own superior, the domineering and malevolent Bishop John Campbell, a man with evil intent in his heart and the power to carry out despicable acts to a devastating end.

“In writing 'Fatal Absolution,' I was most excited creating the characters and weaving a plot that gave authenticity to their personalities and flaws, their behaviors and choices,” says Mast.
