Fight at Lewes Wawa
A 28-year-old Millsboro man faces charges, and police are searching for others involved in an early morning fight June 4 at Wawa on Route 1 south.
Police responded to the Wawa at 17663 Dartmouth Drive and Route 1 at 1:44 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about several people fighting inside the store, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
A trooper entered the store and found Reginald D. McGlotten yelling profanities and acting disorderly, Fournier said. The trooper asked McGlotten to leave the store and when he refused, the trooper attempted to take him into custody. The two fought and the trooper forced McGlotten to the ground. However, while the trooper was restraining McGlotten, some people pulled the trooper off of McGlotten who then ran across Route 1, Fournier said.
A Rehoboth Beach police officer used a Taser to capture McGlotten.
McGlotten was charged with felony resisting arrest, second-degree conspiracy, offensive touching of a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct. He also was wanted on several court capiases.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $2,750 secured bond.
