Based upon Sir James M. Barrie's 1904 play titled, “The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up," the film begins in a London nursery with the three children of the Darling family: Wendy, Michael and John. Wendy is telling stories to her younger siblings about the mythical Peter Pan, the little boy who never grew up. Later that night, they are visited in the nursery by Peter Pan himself, who teaches them to fly with the help of his pixie friend, Tinker Bell, and leads them to the second star to the right and beyond … to the Island of Never Land.

When they arrive at Never Land, they soon find themselves in the middle of an ongoing war between Peter's gang of ragtag runaways and the evil Captain Hooks’ band of pirates. Time Magazine’s Top Critic states, "Ornamented with some bright and lilting tunes, it is a lively feature-length Technicolor excursion into a world that glows with an exhilarating charm and a gentle joyousness.”

The film will begin at dusk, between 8:15 and 8:30 p.m., at the Bandstand in downtown Rehoboth Beach. This event is free to the public. Seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, or bring a chair or blanket. For more information, go to rehobothfilm.com or rehobothbandstand.com.
