Fitness Friday: Ballet to be beautiful
My adorable friend and fellow blogger Billie of Bossy Italian Wife told me about Ballet Beautiful, yet another way to get in your exercise in a fun way.
Ballet Beautiful is two DVDs and a website created by Mary Helen Bowers. "Ballet Beautiful provides techniques to build and maintain the beauty, strength and grace of a ballerina," according to the website.
If you are like me, then you are probably thinking, sure ballet is great if you are a tall, slender and graceful woman. But I'm short and clunky and certainly could not perform ballet moves!
If that's precisely what you are thinking, then have a chuckle at yourself (I often do), and then think about it this way: Ballet dancers usually have really great arms - I would like to have great arms!
The other thing about ballet dancers is they also have great posture. And, great posture can make you appear taller. See where I'm going with this.
If that still doesn't get you there - just remember, these are DVDs, so you will be doing your version of ballet at home in private. And, no one has to know that you knocked a clock off the wall while doing a pirouette.

Check out the Ballet Beautiful website to watch a live class. If doing a DVD at home isn't for you - maybe you prefer taking classes. You can do that as well with Ballet Beautiful. Bowers created a service that allows you to join a live class, meaning the class can see you and you can see the class. This allows Bowers to correct your form, and it could give you more incentive to try harder. Just saying.
