Fitness Friday:  Just breathe

Droolface was sick all this week, which meant both sleepless nights for him and for us. It's been a rough week, to say the least.

Now that Friday is here, I am happy for the weekend, but not really feeling in an exercise mood. Mostly I want to crawl back under the covers and sleep until Sunday.

Parents out there know how it is. The baby goes to bed, but shortly after, starts screaming and it is nearly impossible to figure out why. So it goes. Alex screamed for hours last night in the middle of the night. I awoke bleary-eyed and sad for the little guy this morning.

The weather is sunny and it should be getting warmer over the weekend - and hey, it's March!

Maybe the fitness tip should be spring cleaning. Cleaning can be fitness. I know some of my mildew-scrubbing efforts have drawn sweat.

Mostly, I just want to tell us all to breathe this weekend. Breathe in the fresh, spring air. The grass, the flowers, the dirt - they are all starting to wake up. That great earthy scent on the breeze is enough to calm even the weariest mama.

So, this weekend, go outside - even if it isn't to exercise. Just get out there, smell that spring air, clean out the winter cobwebs and hope for beach weather around the corner.

Since the weather will be nice Sunday, if your family is healthy and ready for adventure, head down to the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. The Boardwalk is one-mile long, see who can get to the other end first!

As always, keep your chin up in the kingdom of drool!
