Sussex Technical High School was honored May 14 to host a ceremony for four seniors to sign their letters of intent to play college athletics. Wyatt Richardson and Derek Magee will attend Milligan College to play baseball, Willis Dickerson will attend Campbell University to play football, and Dylan Baker will attend Bridgewater College to play lacrosse.

Wyatt and Derek grew up together and are thrilled about having the opportunity to continue their friendship as roommates and baseball teammates at Milligan College. Both will be majoring in physical therapy at the Tennessee school. Wyatt will pitch for the Buffaloes, and Derek will play first and third base for the black-and-orange team of coach Nathan Meade.

Willis will travel to North Carolina to play football at Campbell University. He said that after a visit, he was impressed with the business department there and plans to continue his education in business management. Willis is looking forward to playing as a slot receiver for the Fighting Camels and coach Mike Minter, who is a former Carolina Panthers standout.

Bridgewater College is the destination for Dylan. He is anxious to help build a young Old Dominion Athletic Conference lacrosse team that is only in its third year of existence. He will help fill the midfield for coach Mic Grant’s Eagles. Dylan would like to pursue a career in law enforcement after graduation from the Virginia school.
