Frances F. Evans, retired teacher
Mrs. Frances F. Evans, 83, daughter of Lillian Ruth and F. Rodney Frazer of Cecil County, Md., passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, after an extended illness.
She was a graduate of Elkton High School and St. Mary’s Seminary Junior College, (which became St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1967). She enrolled at the University of Delaware in 1949 where she met Andrew W. Evans of Newark. They were married in 1950 and had three children: Virginia E. Rickards, A. Wallace Evans and Kathleen E. Reineck.
Mrs. Evans taught English, reading and social studies for many years in Cecil County, Md., after completing her bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Delaware. After retiring she pursued her passions of traveling, skiing, reading and life-long learning. During her healthier years she was able to visit every state in the nation and a number of foreign countries. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Frances is survived by her sister, Christine Frazer of Sarasota, Fla.; her three children; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; her husband; brother; and parents.
The family wishes to thank Delaware Hospice and her amazing caregivers who were very compassionate and patient through her long illness.
