Fraternal Order of Eagles 4528 holds grand opening for new home
Sussex County Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4528 opened its doors to the community for a special grand opening Sept. 14. Sen. Gerald Hocker, R-Ocean View, and Rep. Ron Gray, R-Selbyville, were in attendance and addressed the standing room only event. Hocker had the honor of cutting the ribbon as he was an influential force in the Eagles' move into the new building.
Since 2009, the Sussex County Eagles have had a presence in the community when the senator assisted the organization in getting its start. He provided them with a building in which they could meet and grow their organization.
The festivities continued as the crowd enjoyed a buffet for all in attendance. With more than 500 members, the Sussex County Eagles are finally in their new home. Ray Myers, secretary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, states, “The grand opening was an accumulation of four years of hard work. The help of the grand arie, local Eagles’ organizations as well as local representatives enabled us to move into a beautiful, brand new building.”
Local citizens are encouraged to visit and meet with current members to learn more about the various services and opportunities. Fraternal Order of Eagles 4528 is located at 35083 Atlantic Ave., Clarksville; call 302-616-2937.
