Friends of Lewes Public Library appreciate support
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Friends of the Lewes Public Library spring book sale. It was one of our most successful book sales ever!
We had well over 100 experienced and new volunteers contribute many hours to get the book sale set up for our Friends’ Preview Night on Friday and the public sale on Saturday. These volunteers are critically important to these events and we appreciate their support. We are especially grateful to the members of the Cape Henlopen High School Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps students, and the adult leadership of that organization, as well Boy Scout Troop 2540 and their leaders who made the movement of thousands of books possible at the start and close of the book sale.
On behalf of the board of the Friends of the Lewes Public Library, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the generous support of the following businesses: Auntie M’s Emporium, Baker’s Exxon, Books in a Trice, Mr. P’s Pizza, the City of Lewes, and Grand Rental Station. A special “thank you” goes to the vendors who supported our Biblio Bistro with delicious coffee and bagels: Notting Hill Coffee Roastery and Surf Bagel.
The library display case advertising our book sale was extra special this time! Rocket Signs’ generous printing coupled with Laura Jarman Byrum’s creativity received many compliments and drew attention to the sale. Finally, our sincere appreciation goes to all the volunteers who provided “family favorite” baked goods for us to sell.
In case anyone missed our Friends merchandise table at the book sale, the new Friends’ tote bag, and Tshirts produced by Marsha’s, with our fun colorful logo, are available for purchase at the library. The cost is $15 (cash or check) and all proceeds go to the library.
Donations for our spring book sale will be accepted starting May 27. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next sale Saturday, Aug. 31.
