Friends of Lewes Public Library say thanks
Thank you for joining us for the Lewes Public Library spring book sale. It was a great success!
As the saying goes, many hands make light work. It always is true of the library book sales sponsored by the Friends of the Lewes Public Library. We had well over 100 volunteers contribute many hours to get the book sale set up for our “Friends’ Preview Night” and the public sale on Saturday.
Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to the members of the Cape Henlopen High School Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) students, as well its adult leaders, who assisted us with the set-up and tear-down of the tables and books. Thank you Mike Tyler for being our go-to guy on the sale banner set up.
On behalf of the board of the Friends of the Lewes Public Library, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the generous support of the following businesses: Auntie M’s Emporium, Baker’s Exxon, Books in a Trice, Café Azafran, City of Lewes, Grand Rental Station, Notting Hill Coffee Roastery, Rose & Crown Pub, and Surf Bagel. A big thank you to Rocket Signs of Lewes for their design expertise and signage support for our beautiful lobby display.
The Board also would like to thank all the volunteers who provided “family favorite” baked goods. A special thank you goes to the vendors who supported our Biblio Bistro with delicious coffee, bagels and pretzels: Café Azafran, Notting Hill Coffee Roastery, Surf Bagel, and Rose & Crown Pub.
Our recently published Lewes Public Library Cookbook, Cooking with Lewes Friends, was a favorite of the book sale. Copies still are available for purchase at the library. The cost is $20 (cash or check) and all proceeds go to the library.
Donations for our fall book sale will be accepted starting May 20. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next sale Saturday, Aug. 31.
