Two local guys, Mark Riley of Lewes, left, and Derek Pinkstaff of Lincoln, will drive 2,000 miles on U.S. Route 50 July 6 to 11 with the organization Rally North America to raise funds for multiple sclerosis research and treatment.

Along with more than 80 other sports cars and muscle cars, Riley and Pinkstaff will be driving a classic Ford 1963 1/2 Galaxy through Virgina, West Virgina, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado.

Each year, the Rally North America road trip carries a common idea, driving for a cause. This year’s rally is to support the nonprofit organization The Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis. The ACP organization is dedicated to accelerating research efforts to enhance diagnosis and improve treatment to cure multiple sclerosis. Riley and Pinkstaff invite the community to help be a part of their efforts by making a direct donation to ACP in the name of their team, TEAM AMERICA, at acceleratedcure.donorpages.com/RallyRoute502013/TEAMAMERICA/.

The local MS community thanked the men for combining their love of classic cars with their support for MS.  For more information about the Accelerated Cure Project for MS research, go to www.acceleratedcure.org.
