Future Cape scientists compete in Philadelphia

Four students traveled to Philadelphia over spring break to compete in the Delaware Valley Science Fair against more than 1,000 students.

The four students qualified for the regional competition after placing high in the Sussex County Science Fair. The four who competed at the Delaware Valley Science Fair were Grace Brokaw, Ricky Brokaw, Kaitlin Philcox and Madison MacElreyvey.

Three students won there as well. Grace received an honorable mention for her ninth-grade botany project; Ricky received an honorable mention for his ninth-grade physics project; and Kaitlin received a second place engineering award for tenth- grade, a special award from Nano/Bio company and a second place from the Philadelphia Society for Women Engineers

In addition, chemistry teacher Esther Kernosh received a BioGENEius mentor award.
