Gay Men's Chorus to perform two shows Jan. 12 in Rehoboth Beach
The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington D.C. is sending its cabaret cast to Rehoboth Beach for two shows, at 4 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.
Every year, the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington auditions for soloists among its members to stage a cabaret fundraiser. This year, the theme, "Showmen & Showstoppers," revolves around show business.
"We spend a lot of time in the chorus telling stories about our lives as gay men, but actually very little time exploring this other thing that we have in common, that we're all performers and entertainers, something that's a huge part of our identities," says GMCW member Eric Peterson, who co-directed "Showmen & Showstoppers" with Associate Music Director Dr. Thea Kano.
"The songs we've chosen are some that you might expect, all about the thrill of performance and dreams of success, but there are some unexpected choices too," says Peterson, "about how being a performer changes your relationships, your definition of success and how you see the world around you."
Come enjoy these talented showmen singing a grand selection of showstoppers. Tickets are limited, so call 302-227-5620 or buy online at www.camprehoboth.com. Come see why there really is no business like show business.
