Gazette editors need tour along narrow roads

By James F. Athas | Jul 28, 2014

I would like to respond to the Cape Gazette's editorial in last week's newspaper. I am a Millsboro resident and in close proximity to the proposed music festival site. A hot topic that has come up again and again in this area is traffic and congestion on our rural roads.

There are a number of reasons why I believe that permission should not be given for these events, and one of them is safety. We have heard in public forums that the professionals who run these festivals have extensive experience with moving vehicles, RVs, and large numbers of people in an efficient manner. But why should we, in Sussex County, be the testing ground as is implied in last week's editorial?

Does the editorial staff of the Cape Gazette need a field trip along narrow roads with no shoulders?
