Georgetown Shaolin Kung-Fu student Caden Cope recently achieved a personal goal after putting in some hard training. He was crowned Regional Martial Arts Champion of the 9-and-under division at the Mid-Atlantic 2013 Four Seasons Martial Arts Games April 27.

After competing and winning several first places in the twin 2012 Four Seasons Karate Tournaments last year, he was declared top points champion. The 4-foot-tall, red-haired, 9-year-old Kung-Fu student is trained in several disciplines at the Georgetown Shaolin Kung-Fu Kwoon.

In the two tournament eliminations, he bested the competition in his division by garnering multiple first-place finishes in Forms, Weapons, Self-Defense, Breaking and Fighting.

His fellow student, Elias Rose, served notice in the 10- to 13-year-old Division of the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Four Seasons Martial Arts Games that he intends to be a force to be reckoned with by taking first place in Self-Defense and a second place in Fighting.

Big brother Noah Rose served as proctor. The annual two tournament championships draw martial artists from the tri-state area and some as far away as Maine and are presented by Master Bruce Smith of the World Organization of Martial Arts Athletes and are hosted at the Sam Yoder Community Facility in Houston, Delaware.
