Rehoboth Beach — The Cape Henlopen High School golf team held a golf tournament fundraiser at Kings Creek Country Club Nov. 3. Teams competed in a better ball format.

Winning with a net score of 62 was the team of Jim Ryba, Frank Scibilia, Don Dwyer and Roger Beaudin. Finishing second with a net score of 63 were Nick Roth, Chris Massimini, Steve Dignan and Justin Travis.

Massimini won closest to the pin on the seventh hole with a shot 18-feet-7-inches from the pin. Longest drive on the second hole was won by Cape junior Rachel Hagan.

Following golf, the players enjoyed dinner in the Kings Creek clubhouse and a Chinese auction for rounds of golf at Cape Region golf clubs.

The money raised at the tournament helps the golf team pay for equipment, meals and other expenses that may occur during the season. The Cape golf team will kick off its spring season March 24, 2014, with a home match against Sussex Tech at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
