Grace M. Roccisano, excellent cook
Grace M. Roccisano, 88, of Dagsboro, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. She was born March 8, 1926, in New York, N.Y., daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (La Giovanni) Coviello.
Grace enjoyed shopping, was an avid reader, and an excellent cook. She loved preparing family dinners and having both family and friends around the table to savor her masterful meals. Meal times were often followed by lively games of Scrabble or cards that Grace often won. Grace had been an active member of the CHEER Coastal Leisure Center in Ocean View, and truly enjoyed her outings with the ladies from the Red Hatters, Ocean View Chapter.
In addition to her parents, Grace Roccisano is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dominick, who passed away in 2005; her brother Jack Coviello and sister Rita Trapani. She is survived by her two daughters: Ann Marie Mahaffey and her husband Clint of Redding, Calif. and Joan T. Downs and her husband Martin of Dagsboro; two grandchildren: Danielle Downs and her husband Timothy Filasky, Martin Downs Jr. and his wife Alana; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Downs.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in New York. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
