Greene Turtle 5K and 10K attracts 350 runners

The Greene Turtle 5K and 10K races to benefit MS held Aug. 17 in Lewes attracted 251 runners for the 5K and 94 10K runners.

The start and finish were the same; the 10K crowd just threw in another loop.

The 5K was won by Andrew Jakubowitch, 36, in a time of 17:45. Andrew immediately headed back onto the course and escorted his girlfriend Erin Graves to the finish line. Erin won the women’s open division in 21:30.

The men’s 5K leaderboard read Jakubowitch 17:45, Steve Eshelman 18:05,  Martin Rodriguez 18:48, Mike Sewell 19:13 and Duane Christy 20:35.

The women’s leaderboard read Graves 21:30, Katie Thomas 22:37, Melissa Rice 22:55, Sarah Weddle 23:34 and Marissa Washburn 24:05.

The 10K race was won by Dave Hallman 39:19 followed by Patrick Beebe 40:01, Paul Montini 41:31, Chris Stanley 41:31 and Mike Mitchell 42:06.

The women’s race leaders  were Mardiny Ung 48:10, Ivy Rosley 52:16, Linda Schwartz Chi 52:31, Laura Leboeuf 52:42 and Renata Hackley 52:42.
