Harrington man charged with rape
A Harrington man faces charges after police say he raped his stepdaughter at gunpoint.
The stepdaughter, 22, called police at 9:25 p.m. June 26 to a home in the 2200 block of Vernon Road in west Harrington after she said Jerome L. Hall, 53, held a gun to her and forced her to perform sexual acts with him, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
The woman struggled and escaped to a home next door, Fournier said.
Hall was charged with first-degree rape, aggravated menacing, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Vaughn Correctional Center in default of $15,500 secured bond.
