It’s ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ in downtown Lewes! This weekend is full of holiday festivities for the young, young-at-heart, and everyone in between. Don’t miss the arts and craft shows, as well as the always-remarkable homes on the 40th Annual Christmas Tour of Lewes and our one-of-a-kind hometown Christmas parade (now in its 82nd year!).  Lewes fun is not limited to summer!

Saturday DAYTIME: Get Your Holiday Spirit Started!

It looks like the perfect weekend for the Annual Soup Luncheon at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Second Street (from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.) - in conjunction with the 40th Annual Christmas Tour of Lewes homes (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.).  After you’ve warmed yourself at St. Peter’s, venture out to tour festive homes around town, both traditional and contemporary, to jump-start your own holiday inspiration!

You can purchase tickets for the luncheon and tour, which is sponsored by Community Bank of Delaware, at the Ryves Holt House and Lewes Chamber of Commerce Office (on Kings Highway near the Zwannendael Museum). Tickets purchased the day of the tour are $25.00.  Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Saturday EVENING:  Don’t Miss Santa!

For many, the “official” start of the holiday season in Lewes is this Saturday – at the 82nd Annual Lewes Christmas Parade.  The parade kicks off at 5p.m. on Savannah Road at Sussex Drive and ends in front of King’s Ice Cream on Second Street. Cozy up to your friends and neighbors to cheer on the floats, musicians, and fantastic hook and ladder fire truck with its ‘special guest’!

Enjoy this holiday weekend around town!
