During the spring, fifth- through eighth-grade students of Eagle's Nest Christian Academy completed the school's annual longboard art project with the help of a local business. The Home Depot of Lewes graciously donated materials and time to continue this art tradition in 2014.

Eagle's Nest art teacher Robin Stanton's husband designed the board decks, and together they came up with a list of materials necessary to complete the project. The Home Depot provided all the prefabricated decks and painting supplies needed. Representatives from the Home Depot even volunteered their time at Eagle's Nest to work with the kids, giving them useful tips on color mixing and painting. At the end of the project, each student took home his or her own custom-painted longboard.

Displaying their longboards are (l-r) Clara-Rosa Hertzog, Hannah Palmer, and Megan Moore.
Holding their longboard creations are (l-r) Savannah Stewart, Chloe Wilson and Seth Stevens. (Source: Submitted)
