Home Repair Project partners with Keller Williams to help homeowners

Keller Williams of Dover, working with Milford Housing Development Corporation’s Home Repair Project May 8, stripped off old roof shingles of a widowed senior citizen’s home in Felton, replaced rotten underlayment, and re-shingled the entire roof. The volunteers also replaced a side door and steps. At another site in Dover, a second group of Keller Williams volunteers assisted a senior citizen homeowner with replacing rear steps and skirting on her mobile home.

Keller Williams Realty has a year-round commitment to improve local communities through its RED Day initiative - Renew, Energize, and Donate. Each year on the second Thursday in May, thousands of associates from the United States and Canada devote their time to renew and energize aspects of the communities in which they serve.

The Home Repair Project provides emergency-related health and safety repairs to qualified Delaware homeowners. With the help of volunteers and grants obtained through local partnerships, all repairs are provided at no cost to qualified recipients. Since 1991, the Home Repair Project has helped thousands of families make their homes safer.

MHDC is a mission-driven nonprofit housing developer with a sensible approach and a caring environment for people of modest means first formed in 1977 by local residents who saw a need for affordable housing solutions.  MHDC provides transitional housing, rental housing, homeownership opportunities, emergency home repairs, and home rehabilitation services as well as credit and financial counseling.
