Hoping history will reveal truth behind the lies
Regarding the letter of Dave Magyar (May 24), we too ask where was the outrage during the Bush Administration. As the aunt and uncle of a 19-year-old killed in the illegal Iraq war, our outrage seems to know no bounds. Our nephew was killed after the "Mission Accomplished" theatrics.
On this Memorial Day it is especially difficult to understand why our nephew, as well as thousands of other young people, lost their lives in a senseless war perpetuated by lies. What came out of these wars, Iraq and Afginastan, is a nice monetary gain for many in the administration and for Halliburton in particular.
We know we will never see the individuals involved be brought to trial for crimes against humanity. We can only hope that history will reveal the truth behind the lies. Thank you Mr. Magyar for expressing our sentiments so eloquently.
