Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival kicks off with May 23 reception
Milton's 10th Annual Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival kicks off with an opening reception for the Art of Nature '13 Festival Art Show and Sale from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 23.
The reception is hosted by the Milton Arts Guild, a festival Community Partner. The community is invited to view the latest work by members of the guild while enjoying a chat with the artists over a glass of wine and light hors d'oeuvres.
The MAG artists are displaying their interpretation of the festival's honorees, horseshoe crabs and shorebirds. The reception marks the opening of the Milton Arts Guild's latest show, which runs through June 12 at the Lydia B. Cannon Museum of the Milton Historical Society in downtown Milton, at the corner of Union and Magnolia streets.
The Milton Arts Guild is also sponsoring the Children's Art Tent all day at the Horseshoe Crab and Shorebird Festival Saturday, May 25, in downtown Milton.
Guild members plan a fresh and innovative approach to this popular feature of the festival and are offering whimsical new horseshoe crab- and shorebird-related crafts for the children. MAG members and other volunteers will be on hand to assist and applaud the children in their creative efforts.
