Hospitals hammer away for healthier Sussex County
As part of the Healthier Sussex County Initiative, three hospitals - Beebe, Nanticoke and Bayhealth - have teamed up with Sussex County Habitat for Humanity to build two homes in Georgetown Point for two Habitat families who are employed in the healthcare industry.
To show their strong support and set an example for others to follow, the CEOs came out and worked a day together with representatives from each hospital. It was a day full of team building, hard work and fun. In addition to volunteer build days, each hospital is hosting the Habitat ReStore truck for donations, conducting new tool drives in October in their lobbies and hosting dine/donate nights in November at local restaurants.
The goal is for all hospital employees to participate, whether it is volunteering to build, donating a new tool or participating in a night out. To learn more, go to www.sussexcountyhabitat.org or call 302-855-1153.
