Hot Off the Press will open at the Rehoboth Art League Friday, Feb. 7, showcasing the vibrant and cutting-edge work of 20 college and university students. This is the very first exhibition of student work from various colleges and universities in Delaware and Maryland at the Rehoboth Art League. Delaware State University, Salisbury University, and Washington College will all be represented.

This exhibition gives students a unique opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a professional setting and learn valuable skills important to an artist, such as submitting, preparing, and displaying their work. All types of media will be exhibited including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital arts, photography, graphic design, ceramics, and sculpture. The subject matter for the artwork includes figurative realism, abstract composition, product design, and much more.

Twenty students were selected for this show by exhibitions manager and Salisbury University art professor John Mosher, exhibitions coordinator Rae Ramos, and Dr. Donald Becker, chair of the Art Department at Delaware State University. Visitors to the Rehoboth Art League will get a chance to see emerging artists from the area as they develop their vision and craft. Most of the work in this exhibition will also be for sale.

The opening for the public is 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7. Hot Off the Press runs through March 2. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday and noon to 4 p.m., Sunday. The Rehoboth Art League galleries are closed on Mondays through March 31.

The Rehoboth Art League is a membership-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to teaching, preserving and inspiring the arts in the region. For more information on the art league, its classes, events and exhibitions, visit rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408.

These programs are made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
