Hyatt Place Hotel and The Residences at Lighthouse Cove meet construction milestones
Dewey Beach Enterprises has regained time lost from the effects of Hurricane Sandy and remains on track to complete Phase 1 construction for the scheduled Memorial Day weekend grand opening of the Hyatt Place Hotel and luxury oceanside condominiums, The Residences at Lighthouse Cove, Dewey Beach (formerly Ruddertowne).
A project update, including photos of ongoing construction at Dickinson Avenue on the bay, including Hyatt Place Hotel features, oceanside condominium floor plans and amenities, is provided at www.TheResidencesDE.com and at The Residences Facebook page, facebook.com/TheResidencesAtLighthousecovedeweybeach.
The multi-phased Lighthouse Cove project is one of the largest private-sector construction projects under way in Delaware. The project is currently employing 45 full-time subcontractors, with the concrete post tension structure being poured during January and February. Daystar Sills as the general contractor with additional subcontractors, of an estimated 50-plus employees, will begin HVAC, plumbing and electrical rough-in work later in January.
The third-level structure was completed this week. Upon completion, The Lighthouse Cove project will have a positive economic effect on the town with building permit revenue that has been paid to the town and county, property values, year-round employment and family entertainment choices for Dewey Beach and neighboring communities throughout the county.
A fully furnished luxury condominium model is now open for private tours by appointment. To schedule a private tour of the model, contact Laura Henne of McWilliams|Ballard at 302-222-0002, or email@example.com.
“Excitement has accelerated with condominium prospects in the new year,” stated Henne, “and four of the anticipated 12 luxury Oceanside condominiums have already sold. Additional broker and buyer incentives will be announced later in January.”
Delaware Economic Development Office Director Alan Levin says Dewey Beach and the entire Delaware coastline will benefit from the stellar presence of Hyatt Hotels, a global leader in the hospitality industry.
“We are happy Hyatt Hotels chose to add Dewey Beach to its worldwide portfolio of hotels,” said Levin. “As a $2.1 billion industry in Delaware, tourism is a key economic driver in the state. The redevelopment project [Lighthouse Cove] will create jobs and spur further economic growth.”
“Sussex County has experienced an extraordinarily high construction industry unemployment rate over the last few years as a result of the recession. We’re excited to help put Delawareans back to work”, said E. Thomas Harvey III, president of Dewey Beach Enterprises.
