Injury-plagued Cape soccer falls to Smyrna 2-0

With the team's two top scorers - Cassandra Garcia and Shelby Thomas -sidelined with injuries, the Lady Vikings could only muster two shots on the Eagles' goal as they fell 2-0 in their final game of the season May 14 at Smyrna.

Cape goalies Olivia Baratto and Taylor Hardy stopped 10 Smyrna shots.

Smyrna was also awarded two penalty corners while the Lady Vikings had none.

Smyrna's Allison Hubert scored in the first half with a helper from Maureen Hossler, and Stacey Staley made it 2-0 in the second half with an assist from Casey Bell.

The Vikings finish their season with a 9-5-1 record.
