Is Hallady done?
This week's baseball effort by the Phillies has been pretty impressive so far. They have been able to bounce back in the series against the San Francisco Giants. In the first two games their offense has finally shown up and we've seen some good hitting from Howard, Utley, and Young. Hopefully they move on to Arizona this weekend with some more Ws. I personally am pretty bummed with Roy Halladay and his ailing shoulder this week. I don't know why he tried to pitch last Sunday knowing he was injured. His efforts ended up costing us that game against Florida. His injury is hopeully not a career-ending one. But we will revisit that subject next year.
For those that follow golf, this weekend is the Players Championship that is always held at the TPC Sawgrass course in Jacksonville, Fla. This is the site of the PGA tour headquarters and also the infamous 17th hole island green that brings more jeers than cheers! For me, this tournament is fun to watch because I used to play the course all the time on PlayStation. I wonder just how many balls are at the bottom of that water hazard! I also wanted to mention what happened last week with Vijay Singh. He was [sort of] exonerated from being penalized for taking a previously illegal substance that was supposed to help him recover from injuries. ESPN should have covered this story at least a little bit. If it had been Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson or Rory McElroy, it would've been the big story of the week. Vijay Singh is famous enough that he deserved some media coverage beyond what was offered on the Golf channel.
