It need not come to this in Milton
I am deeply saddened by the remarks made by Fran Fallender, Mayor Newlands’ wife. To understand this campaign has brought you to the level of believing any supporters or I am a thief is tragic. Given my history of supporting Cliff from the very inception of his candidacy, it is foolish to believe I would sabotage my own campaign in order to be underhanded. Cliff’s own campaign announcement came right in my home among many of those who supported him in 2010. These are the same people today you accuse of being so low as to steal your husband’s campaign signs.
After the wind blew for two days straight, many of my own signs were missing or broken and volunteers were out for several hours replacing or repairing them. My signs have disappeared from the area of Wagamon’s West Shores; but I am not accusing anyone or pointing a finger. This campaign is what it is, though I am sorry to see it decline to the point where you felt the need to accuse me or my supporters of such a deed.
I am not your enemy, nor Cliff’s enemy. Your husband and I have fundamental differences and that is the very reason we are running against one another in this election. But I wish him no ill will and I certainly would not stoop to the level of being a thief as you implied. If there is a police report on file, I have not been notified nor contacted for any statement. I believe your suspicions are unfounded, mean-spirited and desperate. I repeat what I said above; it is tragic to think our relationship has declined to this point.
