After last winter's deep freeze there’s no doubt we're all happy that Memorial Day weekend is here.

I’m excited because it means we get to spend another summer together at the Beach Paper. It’s going to be a great season, and one that is going to feel extra sweet on the heels of that bitter cold winter.

My prediction is that we’re in for a hot summer. Break out the bikinis, get the cold drinks ready and gear up for some serious summer fun. We’re going to have a fantastic time basking in the sun, and I’m going to help you find your way to some great local spots.

I just love where I live. It’s a special place whether you're here for a  weekend or a lifetime. I love Memorial Day weekend because it's the unofficial start of the season. Even though the highways are packed and the streets are crowded, I'm always filled with pride when I see the visitors.

I know when I see so many out-of-state license plates pouring into town that the season has begun.

I feel so privileged to live in a place others love so much. Each beach - from Lewes to Fenwick Island - is unique. From the sandy beaches to awesome restaurants, to the many attractions that the community offers, another year is ripe and ready for the picking.

I’m anticipating putting my feet in the sand, enjoying barbecues and icy cold drinks and making new friends.

So join us each week on the pages of the Beach Paper, where we'll celebrate all the fun that summer has to offer.
