Jacquelyn H. Reamy of Rehoboth Beach died Sunday, March 10, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

She was born Jacquelyn Varley Henry May 24, 1942, in Norwich, N.Y., the only child of Stanley Henry and June McGown Henry, both now deceased.

The family moved to Fulton, N.Y. and Jacki attended Fulton High School, graduating in the Class of 1960. She attended Hardwick College, Oneonta, N.Y., graduating in 1964. She taught school in Herkimer, N.Y. briefly before moving to Washington, D.C. She accepted a position with the Library of Congress in 1965.

After a rapid series of promotions to positions of increased responsibility, she was appointed to the position of technical assistant to the chief of the Cataloging in Publication Division, where she was responsible for liaison between the library and publishing companies throughout the country.

During her employment there she met her husband, John (Jack) Reamy. They were married in September 1967, in the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, V.I. She retired from the library in August 1997, after a career spanning 32 years. Upon retirement, the family moved from Washington, D.C. to Bethany Beach, and eventually to Rehoboth Beach.

She leaves to mourn her passing, Jack, her devoted husband of 45 years; and a wide circle of devoted friends and former colleagues in Washington, D.C. and along the Delaware coast.

A gathering of friends will be held Saturday, June 8, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., at her residence. All other services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Cat Sanctuary, 32600 Landing Lane, Delmar, MD 21875.
