Janet H. Martin, enjoyed fishing

Janet H. Martin, 73, of Seaford, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Rehoboth Beach Oct. 6, 1940, daughter of the late John C. and Leora Holly (Dutton) Holland.

Mrs. Martin was a lifelong resident of Rehoboth Beach prior to relocating to the Seaford area. Janet loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing on the Cape and crabbing in the Delaware waterways. Mrs. Martin would spend days in her youth walking along the fields searching for arrowheads.

In addition to her parents Janet was preceded in death by her husband Charles Frederick Martin Jr. who passed away in 2003; her twin brother, Jack Holland; and two sisters, Joan Banks and Sara Fillian.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her son John “Eric” Clifton and wife Ginger of Seaford; a grandson John “Jake” Clifton of Seaford; a granddaughter Gina Lee Clifton of Seaford; six nephews: Marc Banks of Milford, Brian Banks of Salisbury, Md., JC Holland of Angola, Rick Fillian, Doug Fillian and Stanley Fillian all of New Hampshire; a niece, Kay Fillian also of New Hampshire; and three cousins: Victor Rust of Rehoboth Beach, Mary Anne Warren of Rehoboth Beach and Sandra Hobie.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 31, at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton.
