Joseph E. Thomas, 65, dies following motorcycle accident injuries
A Georgetown man who suffered a serious head injury July 27 after a single motorcycle crash near Seaford has died from his injuries.
Joseph E. Thomas, 65, died Aug. 18 at Delaware Hospice in Milford, said Cpl. John Day of the Delaware State Police.
The accident happened while Thomas was driving a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Concord Pond Road south of Hastings Farm Road when he left the roadway for unknown reasons, Day said.
Thomas drove into a ditch and traveled several hundred feet before he crashed head first into a roadside utility box; he was not wearing a helmet, Day said.
Immediately after the crash, Day said, Thomas was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and then flown to Christiana Hospital where he was admitted with a serious head injury. He was later moved to Delaware Hospice in Milford, Day said.
