Joseph ‘Joe Boy’ Felton, lawn service operator

Joseph “Joe Boy: Felton, 70, of Lewes passed away at his home Wednesday, May 27, 2012. Joseph was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Nassawadox, Va. to the late Edward and Leona Felton.

Joseph worked various jobs in the area such as construction and bulkheading, but his most recent was God Father Lawn Services which he owned and operated until his death.


Joseph loved cars, but his passion was being a DJ and would often offer his services to family and friends. When he wasn't working he loved to shop at the local flea markets for clothing and jewelry. He had a smile that would light up a room and would help anyone he could.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Theodore; and sisters Savannah Montgomery and Mary Lee Felton. He is survived by an ex-wife Velma Hall of Seaford; and eight children, sons Anton Hall of Middletown, Guy ( Marcie) Felton of Millsboro, Amos Felton of Greenwood, and Joseph Sr. (Tyraa) Felton of Ellendale; daughters Nadena Hall of Rehoboth Beach, Bobbie (Randol) Hopkins of Milton, Sanetta Felton of Hartly and Kathy Felton of Durham, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Edward Felton of Pensacola Fla., Raymond Felton of Grasonville, Md. and Benjamin Felton of Chesterson, Md.; sister Estella ( Calvin ) Butler of Milton; a special friend Felica Smith of Seaford; and a host of nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday June 9, at Crossroads Community Church, 20684 State Forrest Road, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to the Joseph Felton Memorial Fund, 2 Lorraine Lane, Ellendale, DE 19941.
