Kathryn Elizabeth Rogers Zerby Meade, 91, of Rehoboth Beach, peacefully went home to the Lord in the morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Georgetown June 11, 1921, daughter of the late Norman and Ethel (Savage) Rogers, the only daughter in a family of three brothers (by whom she is predeceased), and a proud graduate of the Georgetown High School Class of 1939.

Mrs. Meade was known throughout the Rehoboth Beach community for her kind nature, genuine smile and ladylike style.  She shared the gift of her beautiful singing voice at every opportunity, particularly as a former member of the Epworth United Methodist Church choir.  Each member of her family and her wide circle of friends and neighbors brought her much joy until the day of her passing.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey E. Zerby Sr. and his wife (her “daughter-in-love”) Ruth Ann of Rehoboth Beach; her granddaughter, Wendy Truitt and her husband Chris of Harbeson; her grandson, Jeffrey E. Zerby Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Lewes; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Hearn of Nutley, N.J.; two great-grandsons, Luke Wright of Harbeson and Aaron Truitt of Roxana; her aunt, Prela Lynch of Georgetown; cousins, a niece and several nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. and a reception to follow.  Friends may also visit from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
