Keegan Pando honored for oratorical talent
Worcester Preparatory School eighth grade student Keegan Pando, Lewes, is congratulated by Richard Caprone, Ocean Pines, for his excellent work in the 2013 Optimist International Oratorical Competition. Pando has been tops in the Worcester County Oratorical competition three years in a row, and this year he was selected to represent the district in the State of Maryland competition in Ocean City.
In addition to his honors for oratory, Pando was also a winner in the Optimist International Essay Competition. According to Dr. Merle Marsh, director of Special Projects at Worcester Prep, “Keegan is a wonderful speaker, who understands how to engage his audiences. He enjoys writing speeches that show the importance hard work and helping others toward personal success, and he has no trouble giving his speeches from memory.”
Caprone, Ocean Pines, a former New York teacher and the long-time chairman of the Optimist Oratorical Competition, believes in giving his time to help the students of the region develop skills they will need for the future.
