Kimberley Phillips appointed as Reading ASSIST Institute director of instruction

Marilyn Monahan, executive director of the Reading ASSIST Institute in Wilmington and Milford, recently announced the appointment of Kimberley Phillips to the position of director of instruction. Phillips will be responsible for developing and overseeing the organization’s Professional Development Program.

Phillips received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education with a minor in special education from the University of Delaware, and her master of arts degree in education (early childhood special education) from George Washington University. Her career in the Colonial School District in New Castle as a classroom teacher, educational diagnostician and instruction coach for the Division of Academics with emphasis on literacy development, instructional strategies and data analysis, will benefit Reading ASSIST Institute as it moves forward to meet the challenges of Delaware’s teachers.
